Introduction
The VPN tunnel password (the one the apps use) can be changed on the product page without opening a ticket. This does not change your Client Area email login.
Reset the VPN password
- Client Area > Services > your VPN product.
- Under the account card, find Reset Password.
- The box is often pre-filled with a generated password. Click the circular-arrow button to generate another (10 characters, mixed case and numbers, no ambiguous letters).
- Or type your own. Rules:
- At least 6 characters.
- Must not be the same as the VPN username.
- A strength line under the box shows Weak / Medium / Strong.
- Click Update.
Success shows a green banner: Password updated successfully. Failure shows a red banner with the reason (missing data, login failed to the panel, and so on).
After a reset
- Copy the new password from the Password field (it should now match what you set).
- In every app still using the old password — Windows, Android, TV, OpenVPN Connect, proxy extension — log out or update the saved password and connect again.
- WireGuard
.conffiles you already downloaded keep working; they use keys, not this password. OpenVPN profiles do use this password.
If Update fails, wait and retry. Do not mash Update. Admins can also reset the same password from WHMCS; both stay in sync with VpnPanel.
